About Us

Welcome to Allestree Juniors Football Club

We provide team football for players of all abilities from all areas of Derby, ranging from Under 7’s to Under 21’s. Our club achieved the FA’s charter standard level in 2003. We are determined to continue with the drive to improve standards in all areas of the game. We have in place a Child Welfare Policy and the club has a Welfare Officer who keeps up to date with the FA’s standards.
The sound structure of the club ensures the player’s interests are put first, with safety and enjoyment being the most important factors. All teams are well organised and equipped, we provide the well known All Red Allestree strip as well as an away strip. Training is usually held once a week through the season using various locations throughout the area. Allestree Juniors have always welcomed all players who are keen to play.
Many age groups have four teams. We enter the Under 7’s to Under 12s in the Derby Junior Football League and Under 13’s to Under 21’s in the Derby City League. This year we have 31 teams! Making us the biggest club in the Derby area. We have 5 Under 7s teams, 4 Under 8s, 4 Under 9’s, 3 Under 10’s, 3 Under 11s and 3 Under 12s in the Derby Junior Football League and 9 teams in the Derby City Football League. Our Ethos                                                     “Football for All”

The focus of Allestree Juniors Football Club is the development of both its players and coaches in the skills of the game, teamwork and playing strategies. We aim to offer the best development  programme through support of the Managers to ensure that all of our Coaches are fully qualified and licenced, therefore able to develop and support our players to their full potential.

We promote a holistic approach based on the FA’s four-corner model for long term player development, with age appropriate coaching recommendations for players aged 7-10 and 11-21.

Winning in itself is not the objective of AJFC but is an outcome of its success in developing its players. A “win at all cost” attitude will not be tolerated by the club.

Allestree Juniors FC Key Objectives are:

  • To provide a safe and non-threatening environment that encourages participation.
  • To promote team sport by providing a club structure under which junior football players can participate and develop.
  • To promote and support volunteer and community participation
  • To encourage and support coaches development through the
  • To provide coaching pathways for individuals that wish to pursue further football development
